About The Owner
Monika Stewart-Johnson
Certified with the Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music since 2015. Monika has over a decade of teaching experience to students of all ages and abilities. Starting her work with children and young adults in 2001 as a Youth Outreach Coordinator for programs like the Harris County Street Olympics as well as Music and Extracurricular Activities Manager for the YMCA in Houston, Texas. She found a path of mentorship and a love for teaching.
Monika continued her work with inner-city youth and after school programs for several years. This led her to charity programs and event coordinating where she found pageantry. In 2007 she competed for and won the title of Miss Texas International. Through her volunteer work as a Miss Texas she was named Regional Ambassador for the Boys and Girls Club of America 2007/2008.
Beginning her career as a student teacher in 2013, she continued training while teaching and in 2015 received a diploma though the music certification program ABRSM based out of London UK. She worked as a teacher for seven years at two prestigious music schools in the Houston area before going out on her own in 2020. Studio Cadenza is a dream realized for Monika after over ten years of hard work and dedication to her craft.
